Ralph E. Babb, 93, of Lafayette died at 7:50 p.m. Thursday July 29, 2010 at Clarian Arnett Hospital. Born Dec 5, 1916 in Waynetown he was the son of the late George W. and Daisy Covault Babb.  Mr. Babb was an infantry sergeant in the Army during World War II.  He married Alberta J. Husman who preceded him in death on Aug 28, 2002.  Mr. Babb worked at Ralston Purina for 16 years at Brown Rubber for 16 years and retired from Waste Water Treatment.  He was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, American Legion Post 492 and 40&8. Surviving are three daughters: Lou Ella Sheridan of San Antonio, Texas, Joyce A. Rogers of Gallatin, Tenn and Cheryl L. Lawton (husband, Warren) of four daughters: Diane Burket and Jacqueline Childers (husband, Kenny) both of Lafayette; Janet Bush (huisband, Don) of Othelo, Wash and Patty Combs (husband Tony) of Monon and one son, Terry Babb (wife: Teresa) of Peru, Ind.  ALso surviving are 17 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by a son, Rex Babb in November 1992 and 15 siblings.  Visitation from 1-2 p.m. Monday at Hippensteel Funeral Home with service at 2 p.m. Robert Guenther officiating. Entombment at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Hemophilia Association, Hippensteel Funeral Home entrusted with care.
