BABB, George Cecil - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

George Cecil Babb of Attica, age 88, died Thursday morning, March 31, in St. Elizabeth Hospital at Danville, Illinois. He was born at Covington, June 18, 1894, the son of John Wallace and Faye Deila Harper Babb. February 23, 1945, he married Mary Lou Reynolds, who survives. Babb was a member of the Covington First Christian Church and a resident of RR 3, Covington until he moved to Attica three years ago.

 He retired in 1968 from the Danville Veterans Administration Medical Center and served as superintendent of Fountain County Home until November of 1974.

  Surviving also are a son, Walter D. of Attica; two foster sons, Paul Hardy of Veedersburg and James Joe Hardy of Covington; a sister, Gladys Stafford of Phoenix, Arizona; and two grandchildren.

  Graveside services and burial were Saturday morning in Mount Hope Cemetery at Covington with Rev. Robert Hendrick officiating. Bodine and Shelby Funeral Home in Covington was in charge of arrangements. – thanks to S
