AXSOM, Garrett - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Burial at Oakland Cemetery near Elmdale for Garrett H. Axsom, 72, of South Bend, father of Leon Axsom and Mrs. Marie Iffert of Veedersburg who died Saturday, (Oct. 24, 1970) in St. Luke Presbyterian Hospital in Chicago. He had been ill three months. Mr. Axsom's first marriage was in Fountain County in 1916 to Louella Brimberry of Mellott. She died in 1946. They lived in the Fountain County area before moving to South Bend in 1939. He was married in 1964 to Betty Priem and she died in 1967. Also surviving are two other sons, David of Elkhart and William in Oregon; three other daughters, Mrs. Lillian Lemon of Hartford, Ill., Mrs. Winona Jones of Elkhart and Mrs. Maxine Waddle of Chicago, and a brother, Leonard of Lowell.
