Funeral services for Earl Axsom, 48, residing three miles southwest of Waynetown were held last Friday in Waynetown with burial in the Oakland Cemetery north of Elmdale. Mr. Axsom was found dead in his home by his wife, Elsie at 11 a.m. Wed Feb 9. Montgomery County Coroner, Dr. Fred Blix returned a verdict of suicide with death caused by strangulation. Mr. Axsom was born July 25, 1906 in Brown County, son of Landy and Anna Mercer Axsom. He married Elsie Young at Crawfordsville, Nov 9, 1935.  He served in the US Army from 1928 to 1935.  Surviving with his wife are a daughter, Margaret; his parents of Crawfordsville rural route; a sister, Mrs. Mayme of Crawfordsville; four brothers, Gilbert of Veedersburg, rural; Leston of Crawfordsville; Leland of New Market and Kenneth of Whitesville.   --– kbz
