AUTER, Guy - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Mellott - Guy Auter, age 84, a resident of the Mellott community for approximately 43 years, died at 9:15 p. m. Wednesday, Aug. 15, at the county home north of Covington. He had resided there since Aug. 10, 1961. Born Oct. 7, 1877, in Hillsboro, he was the son of John and Nancy Jane Pogue Auter. He was married in 1918 to Orpha Quiggle DeAth. She preceded his in death on Sept. 3, 1960. He was a member of the Mellott United Church of Christ. Survivors include a step-son, Harold DeAth of Veedersburg; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 2 p. m. Friday, Aug. 17, at the Crumley Funeral Home in Hillsboro. The Rev. Don Cutts officiated. Burial was in Rosehill Cemetery.
