Covington -- Services for Mrs. Eula Anna AUTER were conducted today in Mt. Carmel Baptist Church with burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Mr. Auter, 87, died unexpectedly Friday night in St. Elizabeth Hospital, Danville, Ill. Mrs. Auter was a retired seamstress. S he had been employed 21 years at Veterans Administration Hospital. A former resident of Danville she lived at Covington from 1943 to 1973. She had made her home with her children since 1973. Mrs. Auter was a member of 1st Baptist Church, Covington and attended Mt. Carmel the past 5 years. Born Nov 22, 1887, she was a daughter of Henry and Mary Wilson Peters. She married Newman C. Auter Sept 6, 1911. He died Feb 1, 1963. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Mary E. Hilgeman; 3 sons: Arthur Ray; Neuman C and Harold W; 9 grandchildren and a great. - kbz

Mrs. Eula Ann Auter, 87, a longtime resident of Covington, died at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville, Ill. at 9 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 3.
She was born on November 22, 1887, at Covington, the daughter of Henry and Mary Wilson Peters. She was married on September 6, 1911 to Neuman C. Auter who preceded her in death in February of 1953.
She was a graduate of Covington High School and had been employed as a seamstress at the Veterans Hospital in Danville for 21 years, retiring in 1953. She had also done babysitting.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Covington and had attended the mount Carmel Baptist Church south of Covington for the past five years.
Surviving are three sons, Arthur Roy, Neuman and Harold, all of Danville, Ill.; a daughter, Mrs. Mary E. Helgeman of Urbana, Ill.; nine grandchildren and a great grandchild. She was preceded in death by a son and a brother.
Services were Monday at the Mount Carmel Baptist Church with Rev. Alfred Dobbs officiating. Burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery. -s
