AUSTIN, Faye Cox - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Mrs. Faye L. Austin of Mellott, age 59, died Monday evening, August 24, in Williamsport Community Hospital. She was born near Clinton, January 3, 1922, the daughter of Clyde and Flossie Charters Cox. February 3, 1940, she married Russell Austin, who survives. Mrs. Austin was a member of New Antioch Christian Church, a former member and president of Mellott Town Board and had been employed at the Sterling Marathon Station and the Waymire Grocery in Mellott.

  Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Carolyn Sue Ray of Crawfordsville; two sons, Russell E. of Mellott and David Lee at home; two sisters, Mrs. Delores Hankins of Colfax and Mrs. Vivian Kees of Chicago; and five grandchildren.

  Funeral services were held this afternoon (Thursday) at Crumley-Williams Funeral Home in Hillsboro with Rev. Lowell Williams officiating. Burial was in Meharry Cemetery at Wingate.- thanks to S
