AUSTIN, Agnes Williams - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

MELLOTT — Mrs. Agnes B. Austin, 85, died at 4:45 p.m. Thursday at her home after a lingering illness. She was born Nov. 9, 1878, in Hardin County, Ky., to Millard and Mary Gray Williams. She married Jake Austin on Feb. 7, 1900, in Elizabethtown, Ky. They came to Indiana about 1910 where they lived in Darlington before coming to Mellott 23 years ago. Mr. Austin died in 1962. Mrs. Austin was a member of the Baptist Church. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. John (Alta) Ferris of Lafayette; seven sons, John Austin of Linden, Cecil Austin of Pittsboro, Wayne Austin of Indianapolis, Carrell Austin of Crawfordsville and Chester, Russell and Stanley Austin, all of Mellott; 22 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Crumley Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Burial will be in the Meharry Cemetery near Wingate. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday evening and all day Saturday.
