Kingman -- May Atkinson, 73, died Thursday at 10:45 p.m. at the home southeast of Kingman. Born November 15, 1879 in Parke county, she was the daughter of Willard and Laura Swank Thompson. She was married to Milton Atkinson who preceded her in death on January 9, 1924. Mrs. Atkinson was a member of the Kingman Daughters of Union Veterans. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Waneta Jones of W. Lebanon; Mrs. Ruby Warbirton of Danville, Ill; Mrs. Mary Lankton of Jackson, MI and Mrs. Mildred Fisher of Detroit MI; a son, Charles Atkinson at home; a sister, Mrs. Ada Best, Kingman; 3 brothers, John and Clarence Thompson of Frankfort and Pearl Thompson of Crawfordsville; a step daughter, Mrs. Sybil Myers of Waynetown; a step son, Elmer Atkinson of Veedersburg rural route; 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, a brother and a sister. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. from the Kingman EUB Church with Rev Leslie Smith officiating. Burial will be in Centennial Cemetery, east of Yeddo. The body will lie in state at the church for one hour before the services. Friends may call at the residence until noon Sunday.  --kbz

Smith Tent No 35, Daughters of Union Veterans.  Surviving are four daughters: Mrs. Waneta Jones of West Lebanon; Mrs. Ruby Warburton of Danville, Ill; Mrs. Mary Lankton of Jackson, Mich and Mrs. Mildred Fisher of Detroit, Mich; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Sybil Meyers of Waynetown; a son, Charles at home; a stepson, Elmer Atkinson of Veedersburg rural route; a sister, Mrs. Ada Best of Kingman; three brothers, John and Clarence Thompson of Frankfort, Ind and Pearl Thompson of Crawfordsville; 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Funeral services were Sunday afternoon with burial in the Centennial Cemetery. -– kbz
