ATKINSON, David - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

David Atkinson, son of Thomas and Margery Atkinson was born Nov 20, 1830 and died May 31, 1903 age 72 years 6 months 11 days. He was united in marriage to Mary Marshall May 15, 1853 and together they have walked the path of life for 50 years. Four children have preceded him to the better land and 3 sons and 2 daughters with the mother are left to mourn his loss. He bore a lingerting illness of months patiently, often praying and a few times joining in song with those around. Always of a gentle, quiet nature and was universally loved by all both the young and old. Was faithful in attendance of religious service as long as heatlh admitted and in his own immediate neighborhood meetings his voice was always heard in prayer, testimony, song or praise. He filled the office of a loving husband a king and indulgent father, a courteous and obliging neighbor always staning or the right in all things. how much he will be missed those bereft of his shining light can best feel and tell. but his careers is ended; his life work done and well done. He has exchanged earth for heaven; toil for triumph; suffering for joy eteranal.
