Arthela O. Atkinson was born August 6th, 1872, died Nov. 15th, 1899, aged 27 year months and 9 days. Early in life she was joined in marriage with Milton Atkinson, and now leaves her husband and two little children to mourn her loss. To them she was a kind wife and loving mother; mindful of their comfort, and ever ready with her heart and hands to minister to their wants. Sadly will they miss daily loving care and her cheerful kindness towards them. She was diligent in business, and as a neighbor was kind, obliging and generous with her earthly store; ready to lend a helping hand in time of need, and wholly unselfish in these things. The memory of her will be kindly cherished by those of us who have received these tokens of her generous heart. During a revival meeting at No. 2 school house she was converted, Sept. 25th, 1899, since which she has seemed filled with a resolve to lead a Christian life and made preparations for a more diligent attendance of religious service, speaking of her aim to attend Sabbath school with her children, and in the meetings she has attended since her conversion she bore testimony to the resolve to hold fast to the blessing she had received in her soul. During the few short days of her sickness she was heard in prayer, saying she felt all her sins were forgiven, and she wanted above all else to lead a Christian life. But she is gone from us all and entered upon life eternal. We have the assurance her robes were washed white in the blood of the lamb; and of dear Thela we believe. – jlr
