Veedersburg – George Leonard Arvin, 40, Hillsboro, died at 6 a.m. Saturday at Lake View Hospital, Danville. Death was attributed to lockjaw which developed after he had suffered a badly mashed and broken finger at the Coop in Veedersburg on Sept 11. He entered the hospital Thursday. Funeral services were tentative set for Monday afternoon with burial at Bonebrake cemetery south of Veedersburg in charge of the Fishero Funeral Home. Mr. Arvin was born Nov 6, 1905 in Taylor County, Ky, son of William and Myrtle Blankenship Arvin. He came to Indiana in 1927 and on April 5, 1931, was married to Ruth Hughey of Veedersburg. . Surviving are his widow, one daughter, Alice Jean, 11 and a son, James Edward 6 at home; his parents, one brother, John Arvin, Indianapolis; and three sisters, Mrs. Ruth Lane of Rockville, Mrs. Eller Hunt of Campbellsville, Ky and Mrs. anna Hunt of Finley, Ky. Mr. Arvin was a member of the Friends Church, Bloomingdale. – thanks to BD
