An Illinois man returning home after attending the wedding of his niece in Crawfordsville was killed early Sunday morning in a one-car crash in Parke County. Archie D. Armstrong, 45, Villa Grove, was killed on Ind. 47 just west of the entrance to Turkey Run State Park when his car crashed into a guard rail. Police said he apparently fell asleep. He had attended the wedding of his niece, Elizabeth Armstrong, to James Morris at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Crawfordsville Saturday night. The traffic victim was the brother of Glenn L. Armstrong of Attica Road, father of the bride. Covington, Ind. (CNS) — Death of a Villa Grove, Ill. man early yesterday near Turkey Run State Park was one of five reported during the weekend to boost Indiana's 1967 traffic toll to at least 783. Killed about 12:15 a.m. at the intersection of U.S. 41 and Indiana 47 was Archie D. Armstrong, 45, of Villa Grove. Investigating state trooper reported that Armstrong was traveling alone, evidently went to sleep, and crashed through a guard rail and into a sign for Turkey Run State Park. His death was attributed to head and neck injuries and the body was taken to the Davies-Tudor Funeral Home at Rockville.
