APPLEGATE, Ruth Biddle

Waynetown - Mrs. Ruth Applegate, 67, died at 3:40 p.m. Tuesday at a Crawfordsville Nursing Home six hours after funeral services for her mother, Mrs. Maggie Biddle. Mrs. Applegate had been ill since 1959 and seriously ill one week. She was born May 4, 1897 to John W. and Maggie Gray Biddle. She married Harry L. Applegate March 9, 1916 in Waynetown. He preceded her in death in 1955. Mr. and Mrs. Applegate lived on a farm in Waynetown where they operated a restaurant for a number of years.
Mrs. Applegate lived in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Raymond Ping of 307 Meadow Ave in Crawfordsville since 1956. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Crawfordsville.
She is survived by the one daughter, Mrs. Ping; two grandchildren, Don and Patty Ping; one niece, Betty Lou Thompson of Aurora, Colo. She was preceded in death by her husband; one brother, Jesse Biddle and one sister, Mrs. May Connor. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Servies Funeral Home in Waynetown, Rev. Myron Hinton will officiate. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Wednesday.
