VEEDERSBURG — Mrs. Martha Ansberry, 84, died Monday at 4 p.m. at her home here. Born in St. Joseph, Mo., on Nov. 1, 1870, she was the daughter of John and Margaret Osborne Black. She was married to Thomas Ansberry who preceded here in death. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Myrtle Hill, Veedersburg correspondent for the Journal-Review, Mrs. Marguerite Smith, also of Veedersburg and Miss Elizabeth Ansberry of Danville, Ill., three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A daughter and two sons preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p. m. at the Fishero Funeral Home in Veedersburg, with Rev. Richard Owen officiating. Burial will be in Rockfield Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. today.

Veedersburg – Mrs. Martha E. (Black) Ansberry, 85, died at her residence here at 4 p.m. Monday after an illness of about one years. Born in Missouri in 1870, she came to this community as a small girl and married Thomas Ansberry who preceded her in death. She was the mother of the Journal and Courier’s Veedersburg correspondent, Mrs. Myrtle Hill.  Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Myrtle Hill and Mrs. Margarita Smith both of Veedersburg and Miss Elizabeth Ansberry of Danville, Ill. – kbz

Mrs. Martha E. Ansberry, 84 died at 2:30 p.m. Monday at her home.  She had been in ill health the past year and seriously ill several weeks. Mrs. Ansberry was born Nov 1, 1870 in St. St. Joseph MD daughter of John and Margaret Osborne Black. She was a small child when she moved to the Veedersburg area. She married Thomas Ansberry who preceded her in death. Surviving are three daughters: Mrs. Myrtle Hill, Mrs. Marguerite Smith of Veedersburg and Miss Elizabeth Ansberry of Danville, Ill; 3 grandchildren and 5 great grandchilden.  She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. Ann Stonebraker, a son, Thomas and an infant son, William.  She was the last of a family of 7 children. Brief services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Fishero Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Owen officiating.  Burial was in Rockfield Cemetery. – kbz
