John Andrew, a well known resident of this city who had been janitor at the Central National Bank building for several years prior to his last illness, passed away at his home on east Columbia Street about 9:30 last Thursday morning. Mr. Andrew had been in failing health for some time and about two months ago was forced to give up his position at the bank. Death was caused by stomach and liver trouble. The deceased was 76 years old and is survived by the widow and one son – Jacob Andrew of this city. He also leaves to grandchildren – Jacob Crane and Mrs. Eva Smith whom he reared. Mrs. Mary Barr who resides near Independent is a sister of the deceased. The funeral was held Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock from the home, Rev JJ Wilson pastor of the ME Church officiating. Burial was made in the Independence cemetery. - kbz
