Amelia Jane Leas Anderson, 81, of Waldport, Oregon, died on Monday, October 23, 2000 in a hospital at Newport, Oregon. Born in Danville, Illinois on April 29, 1919, she was the daughter of the late John and Gladys (Schoolcraft) Ermann. Her first marriage was married to Forrest E. Leas. He preceded her in death in 1958. She later married Ritschel “Andy” Anderson in Elgin, Illinois on December 25, 1964. He survives. Also surviving, are: three sons, Stewart Leas of Lancaster, Calif., Jeff Leas of Elgin and Victor Leas of Veedersburg; a daughter, Peg Leas of Gary; a stepson, Tom Anderson of Bristol, Ill.; a sister, Mary Quigley of New York City, N.Y.; a brother, Charles Bordon of Valparaiso; seven grandchildren, four stepgrandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter. Mrs. Anderson was a graduate of Danville High School. Visitation was prior to service on Saturday at Dickerson Funeral Home, Veedersburg, with Rev. Rixman officiating. Interment in Osborne Prairie Cemetery, Stone Bluff. – jlr

WALKPORT, Ore. — Amelia Jane (Leas) Anderson, 81, Waldport, Ore., formerly of Veedersburg, died Oct. 23, 2000 in a hospital at Newport, Ore. She was born April 29, 1919 in Danville, Ill., the daughter of John and Gladys Schoolcraft Ermann. Her first marriage was to Forrest E. Leas. He preceded in death in 1958. She later married Ritschel “Andy” Anderson Dec. 25, 1964 in Elgin, Ill. He survives. She was a graduate of Danville High School. Survivors, besides the husband, include: three sons, Stewart Leas, Lancaster, Calif., Jeff Leas, Elgin, Ill. and Victor Leas, Veedersburg; a daughter, Peg Leas, Gary; a step son, Tom Anderson, Bristol, Ill.; a sister, Mary Quigley, New York City, N.Y.; a brother, Charles Borden, Valparaiso; seven grandchildren; four step grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Saturday in Dickerson Funeral Home, Veedersburg, with the Rev. Rob Rixman officiating. Burial was in Osborne Prairie Cemetery, Stone Bluff. – jlr
