Fred Anders, 66, living west of Veedersburg was instantly killed about 11 o'clock Tuesday night when his car crashed into a fast-moving westbound Big Four freight train at a crossing an eighth of a mile from his home.  The car was completely demolished.  At an inquest conducted after the accident by Coroner Wisher Myers, death was adjudged the result of a skull fracture and multiple injuries accidentally sustained.  The auto driving east from Covington apparently did not see the train coming in time to stop and drove straight into it.  Mr. Anders was born August 20, 1878 in Danville, son of Fred and Mary Leverens Anders. He was married Sept 12, 1906 to Elizabeth Berthold, sister of the Rev. Ernest Berthold, pastor of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Danville. The couple moved to this vicinity from Danville about seven years ago.  Surviving are the widow; a son, Alfred by the former marriage to Rose Waltz; three daughters, Rose at home; Josephine of Chicago and Wilhemmina of Veedersburg; two brothers, William of Parke County; and Ernest of Danville; a sister, Mrs. Ida Glavey of Danville; 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
