ALWARD, Melinda Gillum - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Kingman, Ind -- Mrs. Melinda (Linda) ALWARD, 76 died at 12:30 p.m. Wed Feb 25, 1959 at her home one mile west of Kingman. Born at the same residence May 19, 1882, she was the d/o John and Hulda Parkhurst Gillum. She was married to Elmer Alward who preceded her in death in 1955. Mrs. A. was a member of the Daughters of Union Vets Ten 35 of Kingman; OES 234; Pythian Sisters 250, Past Matron and Past Patron club; Royal Neighbor Lodge of America; Kingman Woman's Club, Cabalist Lodge of Attica and Kingman Methodist Church. She had formerly served as the state president of the Daughters of Union Veterans. Survivors include a brother, Leslie of Kingman, and several cousins. She was preceded in death by a daughter. Services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at the Woodrow Funeral Home, Kingman Rev. Kemp Tunnis will officiate with burial in Kingman Fraternal Cemetery. Body is at the funeral home where friends will be received after 2 p.m. Thursday.
