Funeral services for Arista Alward, 67 farmer who died at his home 4 miles East of here at 3:10 p.m. Monday Dec 17, 1957 will be 2 p.. Thursday at Phaneul Evangelical Lutheran Church near Wallace. The Rev. Richard Kraus will officiate with burial in the church Cemetery. The body is at the Woodrow Funeral Home where friends may call after 10 a.m. Wednesday. The body will be taken tot he church one hour before services. Born in Fountain Co April 8, 1890 he was a son of Henry Harrison and Sarah Ann McKinzey Alward. He was a member of the Phaneul Lutheran Church. He was married Dec 19, 1919 to Sadie Duchene, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Marie Nickell; 3 sons, Gordon and Lowell; (sic - only two sons mentioned); two brothers, Bert and Thurman; a sister, Icel Alward of Kingman and 4 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother and sister.
