ALWARD, Abbie Wilkinson - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Abbie Alward, the daughter of Daniel and Louise Shepherd WIlkinson was born Jan 18, 1867 and departed this life at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Robert Newnum of Kingman IN on Jan 6, 1946, at the age of 78 years 11 months and 18 days. At the time of her b. the family lived in Hamilton Co Oh. but when she was 2 the family moved to the Wallace neighborhood where she resided until her death. On March 17, 1887 Abbie Wilkinson was married to Timothy Alward near Kingman IN. This happy couple were blessed with 5 sons and 5 daughters. Two daughters and 3 sons preceded their mother in death, also the father having having gone to the Great Beyond on Dec 11, 1930. She was a member of the Freedom Christian Church at Wallace. Her work on earth is done...those who are going to cherish the memory of this wonderful woman are her 3 daughters: Mrs. Charles Davis, Kingman; Mrs. Robert Newnum, Kingman and Mrs. Robert Delp, Marshall, Ind, two sons, Claude & Otis E. Alward, of Wallace; 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; one brother, Albert Wilkinson of Veedersburg; nieces, nephews and a host of friends and other relatives.
