ALSTON, Manford

Manford Alston, life long resident of the Veedersburg community, died at 4 o'clock Monday morning at his home near the Campbell Chapel neighborhood. Mr. Alston had been ill for some time and had been farming for the past 11 years after receiving a back injury while working on the Nickle Plate Railroad. He was born Jan 2, 1899 the son of Taylor and Hannah Davis Alston. He was married to Ellen Trobaugh March 2, 1922.
Surviving is the widow, a son, Wayne of Boston, Mass; two daughters, Eileena nd Shirley at home; three sisters, Mrs. Florence Harper, Mrs. Effie Booe and Mrs. Ada Ellingwood; two brothers, William and Howard all
of Veedersburg.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday afternoon at the United Brethren Church with Rev. JC Shrigley and Rev. Robert Todd officiating. Burial was in Rockfield Cemetery with Fishero Funeral Home in charge ---
