Attica – Mrs. Addie E. Allhands, 87 of 411 E. Pike Street died at 3:30 p.m. Thursday in Home Hospital, Lafayette.  She had been a patient there since falling in her home on Aug 7.  She was born in Attica and was a life resident of the community.  She was married in 1923 in Attica to Plez R. Allhands, a janitor at Attica HS he died in 1961.  She was graduated from a Attica HS and attended Lincoln College and Indiana State University.  Mrs. Allhands served 13 years as a clerk in the Attica Post Office.  She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Attica and formed its Cradle Roll department.  She also formed the former Epworth League and Booster Sunday School class.  She served four terms as regent of the Ouibache Chapter of DAR and was county chairman of home economics clubs.  She was a member of the Literary Club and the Community Club and Community Hospital Guild.  Surviving are a son, John (Jack) of Attica; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Helen Trenkert of Attica and Mrs. Leora Weilage of Jeffersonville; a sister, Miss Irene Foster of Attica and a brother John Alan Foster of San Diego. --transcribed by kbz

Funeral notices – Allhands, Mrs. Addie E. – Friends may call after 5 p.m. Saturday at Dale Maus Chapel, Attica.  Service there at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, the Rev. Vernon Lallement officiating.  Interment in Riverside Cemetery, Attica.  Also survived by three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.  Those desiring may contribute in memoriam to First United Methodist Church of Attica. --transcribed by kbz
