ROCKVILLE — William I. Allen, 88, died at 11:45 p.m. Monday at his home at 816 N. Virginia St. following an illness of six months. Mr. Allen was a retired farmer and was a member of the Rockville Baptist Church. A Parke County native, he was born May 8, 1878, a son of James and Ann Osborne Allen. Surviving are the widow, Janie; two sons, James of Rockille and Raymond (Bud) of Anderson; four daughters, Mrs. Violet Kilburn of Anderson and Mrs. Gladys Mitchell, Mrs. Ruby Smith and Mrs. Anna Myers all of Rockville; three sisters, Mrs. Anna Turner of Indianapolis, Mrs. Janie Myers of Grange Corner, Ind., and Mrs. Sarah Lough of Ridge Farm, Ill.; a brother, Charles of Newtown, the step-mother, Mrs. Ida Allen of Hillsdale; 26 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Barnes Mortuary in Rockville with Rev. B. F. Nickless officiating. Burial will be in Wolf Creek Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. today.
