ALLEN, William E. - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

William E. Allen, 87 of Hillsboro, owner of the Attica Ready-Mix Co. a general contractor and a road and bridge engineer, died at 6 p.m. Sat Feb 13 1971 at his residence. He had been ill 8 years. Also a former member of the Fountain Co. Welfare Board, he had attended Valparaiso University. Born near Wallace Dec 28, 1883, the son of Thomas and Katherine Allen, he was preceded in death 47 years ago by his first wife, Lesta. On Jan 26, 1958, he married the fomer Berniece Johnson at Willamsport and she survives. Other survivors include a son, Charles W. Allen of Hillsboro and a granddau. Others preceded him in death include a brother and a sister. He was a member of Hillsboro Masonic Lodge 385, F&AM the Scottish Rite and The Murat Shrine Temple of Indianapolis. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Curmley-William Funeral Home, Hillsboro with the Rev. Walter C. Williams officiating and burial in Rose Hill Cem, Hillsboro. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 Monday.
