Wayne L. Allen, 61, Rt 3, Veedersburg (Mellott) died 4:30 p.m. April 6, 1994 at his residence. He was born near Covington in Fountain County Aug 7, 1932 son of Dalmer & Dorothy McCann Allen. He married Sharon Ione Cunningham Aug 5, 1951in Attica. She preceded him in death March 31, 1992. He had been a resident of Rt 3, Veedersburg since 1940. He was a 1950 graduate of Richland Twp School in Newtown. He was a retired farmer and heavy equipment operator. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the US AF. He was a member of Attica Eagles Lodge #2596 and Quigle-Palin American Legion, Newtown. Surviving are two sons, John Allen, Rt 3, Veedersburg; David Allen Rt 1, Hillsboro; a daughter, Susan (Gordon) Kerst, Rt 3; Veedersburg; a brother, James D. Allen Rt 3, Veedersburg and six grandchildren. Funeral services will be at Maus FH, Attica, 2 p.m. Saturday with Rev. Duane Craycraft and Rev. Joel Hutson officiating. Burial in Newtown Cemetery, Newtown. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m.today.

Mellott - Wayne L. Allen, 61, died at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday April 6 at his home at Mellott, Rt 3, Veedersburg. Mr. Allen was a retired farmer and heavy equipment operator.  Born near Covington in Fountain County on Aug 17, 1932 he had lived at Rt 3 since 1940 and was a 1950 graduate of Richland Township School in Newtown. He married Sharon Ione Cunningham on Aug 5, 1951 in Attica.  She died March 31, 1992. Mr. Allen was an Air Force Veteran of the Korean War and a member of Quigle-Palin American Legion Post of Newtown and Eagles Lodge 2596 of Attica. Surviving are two sons, John R. Allen of Rt 3, Veedersburg and David Allen of Rt 1, Hillsboro; a daughter, Mrs. Gordon (Susan) Kerst of Rt 3, Veedersburg and a brother, James D. Allen of Rt 3, Veedersburg. - kbz
