ALLEN, Velora - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Veedersburg -- Velora Allen, 65, 101 S. Mill St, died Saturday at 10:30 p.m. in Phoenix, AZ where he had lived for the past two years. He had been in failing health for five years. He was born in Veedersburg Sept 1, 1900, the son of Charles and Anna Chizum Allen. He married Maude Zimmerman who survives. Other survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Rose Marie Brown of Chicago; one son, Dallas Allen of Danville, Ill and one grandson. He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister. For many years, Mr. Allen was manager of the A&P Grocery in Veedersburg. Recently he had been self-employed. Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at A.L. Moore Funeral Home in Phoenix. Burial will be in Phoenix.
