Mrs. Sadie A. Allen passed away Thursday, February 24, 1977 at Meadow Heights Nursing Center, Williamsport, where she had been a resident the past three years. She was born near Iowa City, Iowa on October 16, 1878, daughter of Samuel and Eliza Tippenhaur Yarbrough. She married John Fingal Allen there November 10, 1903 and came to a farm Northeast of West Lebannon where they farmed for the next 25 years, before buying their home Northeast of Independence. Fingal preceded her in death in in 1955 after which she lived alone and lived comfortably. She was the mother of five children: Mrs. Thelma Baning of Williamsport; Karl of Independence; Ronald (Spud) of Lafayette; Mrs. Isabelle Galloway of North Judson, Ind,; John of Webster Grove, MO, who preceded her in death; also 12 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was a member of the Christ Church of West Lebannon, the D. A. R. and the G. A. R. organizations. The Rev. Leonard Largent officiating. Interment at the West Lebannon Cemetery. tch
