Covington - Mona Bryant Harris Allen, 83, Covington d 7:50 p.m. Wed Mrch 12, 2003 in Provena USMC Logan Campus, Danville, Ill. She was born June 29, 1919 in Perrysville, the daughter of James Fry and Elizabeth Lorinda (Jackson) Bryant. She married Donald D. Harris Dec 25, 1942. He preceded in death June 22, 1981. She married Keith E. Allen May 12, 1989. He preceded June 23, 1999. She was a resident of Perrysville and covington most of her life. Attended Perysville and Covington schools and graduated from Danville HS in 1937. She was a loving and caring mother, a valuable friend to many with a compassionate heart and sense of humor about life. She was a member of Covington United Methodist Church for many years. Survivors include, a daughter, Cheryl A. Harris, Covington, son James Ed Harris, Covington a special sister-in-law, Roberta (Harris) Lynch, Covington; and many loving nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Herbert D. Harris; four brothers and five sisters. Memorial services were at 4 p.m. Sunday in Covington United Methodist Church with Dr. Oscar Mathura officiating. Shelby Funeral Home, Covington in charge of arrangements.
