Waynetown -- Mrs. Mavis M. Allen, 63 died at Culver Hospital in Crawfordsville Sunday at 8 p.m. from complications following an operation on Friday Sept 19. She had been ill for a year. A native of Marshall, Mrs. Allen was born July 5, 1889 the daughter of Andrew and Ida Lundren Henley. On May 1, 1905 she was married to Emery Allen who survives. She was a member of the Christian Scientist religion. The family residence is on RFD 1, Hillsboro. Survivors in addition to the husband include 4 sons: Cyril, Wallace; Clifton Wingate; Clifford Albuquerque NM and Kenneth of Hillsboro: 4 daughters, Miss Thelma Allen, Indianapolis; Mrs. Violet Miller, Bloomington; Mrs. Ruth Tansel, Crawfordsville and Mrs. Norma Wilson, Hillsboro; 10 grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Wed. at 2 p.m at the Wolf Creek Church South of Wallace. The Rev. McBride of the Wingat eMethodist Church will be in charge. Burial will be in Wolf Creek Cemetery adjoining the church. Friends may pay their respects at the Grenard & Servies Funeral Home in Waynetown.

She had been ill for a year. Mrs. Allen was the daughter of Andrew and Ida Lundgren Henley and was born at Marshall July 5, 1889. On May 1, 1905 she was married to Emery Allen who survives. They resided on a farm at the south edge of Hillsboro. She was a member of the Christian Scientist religion. Surviving besides the husband are four sons: Cyril Allen, Wallace; Clifton Allen, Wingate; Clifford Allen, Albuquerque, NM and Kenneth Allen of Hillsboro; four daughters, Miss Thelma Allen, Indianapolis; Mrs. Violet Miller, Bloomington; Mrs. Ruth Tansel of Crawfordsville and Mrs. Norma Wilson of Hillsboro; 10 grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Funeral services was held at the Wolf Creek south of Wallace on Wednesday afternoon with the Rev. McBridge of the Wingate Methodist Church in charge. Burial was in Wolf Creek cemetery adjoining the church.
