Source -- Found in an old scrapbook of obituaries Cates, Ind -- Kenneth G. Allen, 62, a resident of Indianapolis the past 31 years and former Cates resident died yesterday, Jan 29, 1968, in the Del Mar Nursing Home in Indianapolis. Born June 3, 1905, in Fulton Township, Fountain County, he was a son of Samuel R. and Estella Suttles Allen. he was married to Mary Grace Mitchell who preceded him in death in 1962. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Darlene Holstitler of Indianapolis and Mrs. Sandra Berry of Chicago; a son, Gayton Allen of Indianapolis; a sister, Mrs. Ver Kinneer of Cates; two half-brothers, Frank Allen of Covington and Joe Lewis of Florida and 10 grandchildren. He also was preceded in death by three half-brothers and a half-sister. He had been employed by the Eli-Lillie (sic) Co in Indianapolis before retiring in 1947 because of ill health. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Conkle Funeral Home at 4925 W. 16th St, Speedway, Graveside services will be at 3:30 pm. at Mt. Hope Cemetery Covington.
