ALLEN, Jessie Miller - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Mrs. Jessie O. Allen, age 70, resident of Kingman Rt. 1 and mother of Schuyler Allen, Covington business man, and Mrs. Robert (Lois) Dillon, also of Covington, died at 2:48 a.m. Saturday, May 28, at Lake View Memorial Hospital in Danville, Ill. She had been a patient there two days following a stroke on Thursday. Mrs. Allen was born Oct. 26, 1895 in Parke County, the daughter of John J. and Nancy Robinson Miller. She was married in 1915 to Cleveland Allen who preceded her in death March 18, 1949. She was a life resident of Millcreek Township and she was a member of the Baptist Church. She was the last surviving member of a family of four. She is survived by: two sons, Schuyler of Covington and Sherman of Kingman Rt. 1; four daughters, Mrs. Dillon of Covington, Mrs. Lorene Riley of Veedersburg Rt. 1, Mrs. Oveta Clem of Covington and Mrs. Pat Guyer of Indianapolis; 17 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by one grandson. Funeral services were held at 3 p. m. Tuesday at the Bodine and Shelby Funeral Home in Covington. Harry Hybarger will officiate and burial will be in the Centennial Cemetery, south of Veedersburg.
