Zimmie Allen, 90, RR 1, Covington, died at 8 p.m. Sunday Oct 24, at his residence. He was born July 23, 1892 in Fulton Township the son of John and Mary Catherine Hankins Allen. He married Anna May Berto Dec 13, 1919. She died December 2, 1973. He was a life long resident of Cates and Stringtown areas. He was a coal miner and later became a self employed farrier and farmer. He was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, Millard Allen of RR 1, Covington; a daughter Mrs. Gene Hadley of RR 1, Covington; a brother Noah Allen of RR 1, Covington; a sister, Mrs. Mary Jones of RR1, Kingman 3 grandchildren, six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by five brothers and 3 sisters. Services were conducted Wed. at Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home, Covington with Rev. Dan Fatzinger officiating. Burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery. - kbz
