Cates -- Mrs. Icy Allen, 87 of Cates died at 12:15 p.m. Thursday in Ben Hur Nursing Home at Crawfordsville. Born April 10, 1889 in Fountain County, she was a daughter of John and Ellen Riley Babb. SHe married Bert Allen May 8, 1904. He died Aug 5, 1951. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Nellie S. Whyde of Covington and Mrs. Clara Gowin of 304 E. Franklin St, Crawfordsville and a grandson Ethan Whyde of near Cato. Five brothers and two sisters are deceased. Services will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday in Woodrow Funeral Home, Kingman with Rev. Alfred Dobbs officiating. Burial will be in Coal Creek Cemetery near Cato. Friends may call at the funeral home today from 7-9 p.m.

July 15, 1976 in the Ben Hur Nursing Home in Crawfordsville. Born April 10, 1889 in Fountain County, she
was the daughter of John and Ellen Riley Babb. She was the last of 8 children.
She was married May 8, 1904 to Bert Allen, who died August 5, 1951. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Nellie S.
Whyde of Covington and Mrs. Clara Cowin of Crawfordsville and a grandson, Ethan
Whyde of near Cates. She was preceded in death by five brothers and two
sisters.
