Veedersburg, Ind -- Services for Herbert C. Allen, 64 of Veedersburg Rt 3 who died at 11:05 a.m. Saturday Jan 8 1972 will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Parham Funeral Home. Mr. Allen died at Danville Care Nursing Home in Danville where he had been a patient 24 hours. He had been a patient at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville for six weeks. Friends will be received at the funeral home 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Monday. Burial will be in Rockfield Cemetery near Veedersburg. Rev. Alfred Dobbs will officiate. Mr. Allen was born Sept 4, 1907 in Fountain County, a son of William G and Pearl Crane Allen. He married Mary Beaver in April 1929. She survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Quentin (Belinda) Abernathy, Coving Rt 3 and Mrs. Lee (Ruth) Rice, Wingate Rt 1, a brother, James William of Muscatine Iowa; 7 grandchildren and two aunts. Before retirement, Mr. Allen was self-employed as a Sunoco Service Station agent in Veedersburg.
