ALLEN, Hattie Richardson - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

CATES -- Mrs. Hattie B. Allen, 80, died at 2:15 p. m. Wednesday at the residence of a son, Harold Allen, near Mooresville. She had been seriously ill the past eight weeks. Mrs. Allen spent the first 63 years of her life here. She had lived with her son for the past 17 years. Born May 25, 1878, in Fountain County, she was a daughter of Stephen and Elizabeth Ricketts Richardson. She married John W. Allen. He died July 6, 1928. Surviving are five sons, Hershell of Perrysville, Hobart of West Lebanon, Howard of Indianapolis, Hardy of Kingman and Harold of Mooresville; a daughter, Mrs. Estella Orahood of Covington; 20 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandson. She was a member of the EUB Church. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p m. Saturday at Bodine and Shelby in Covington. Burial will be in Snoddy Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects at the funeral home after 7 p. m. Thursday.
