ALLEN, George William - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

George William Allen, age 93, of Williamsport a retired carpenter died at 6:15 p.m. Thursday March 2 at the Community Hospital in Williamsport. He had been ill 8 months. Mr. Allen was born Nov 24, 1873, near Omega in Pike County Ohio the son of William and Armitta Price Allen. He was married June 2, 1900 at Danville to Effie Bever whop receded him in death two years ago. He came to Williamsport in 1893 and had resided in the community 73 years. Survivors include two sons, Forrest of Hammond and Lawrence of Danville; two daughters, Mrs. Mabel Gordan of Williamsport Rt 2 and Mrs. Elvin Lucas of Williamsport; 11 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Crowmer & Skidens Funeral Home in Williamsport. The Rev. Theodore Simonston officiated and burial was in Highland Cemetery.
