Kingman--Funeral services for George Allen, age 80, a retired farmer of Kingman Rt. 2, who died Wednesday morning, Jan. 2, in St. Elizabeth Hospital at Danville, where he had been a patient four days, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, at the Cates EUB Church. The Rev. Alfred Dobbs officiated. Interment was in the Cooper Chapel Cemetery with the Woodrow Funeral Home in charge. Mr. Allen was born two miles north of Cates, Nov. 2, 1882, a son of John and Mary Catherine Hankins Allen. He was married three times -- to Leslie Jackson, Emma Viriski and Laura Shoaf, all of whom are deceased. Mr. Allen was a member of the Cates EUB Church. Surviving are: five daughters, Mrs. Ruth Moody and Mrs. Wahneta Keller of Kingman, Mrs. Myrtle Martin of Indianapolis, Mrs. Eva Lientz of Danville, Ill., and Mrs. Leota Hines of Judyville; three sons, Vernon of Cincinnati, Ohio, Lewis of Attica and Deward of near Kingman; three brothers, Zimmie, Noah and Willard of Covington Rt. 1; four sisters, Mrs. Clara Merryman of Waynetown, Mrs. Hester Woodrow of Covington Rt. 1, Mrs. Nina Tanner of Hillsboro and Mrs. Mary Jones of Kingman Rt. 1, and 24 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Two sons preceded Mr. Allen in death.

Two sons preceded Mr. Allen in death. Funeral services are announced for 2 p.m. EST Saturday at the Cates EUB Church of which the deceased was a member. Rev. Alfred DObbs will officiate and interment will be in Cooper's Chapel Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the church for an hour preceding the funeral. Friends may call after 6 p.m. Thursday and from 2-4 and 7-9 Friday at Woodrow Funeral Home in Kingman.
