ALLEN, Freeman - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Freeman Allen, 78 of Crawfordsville, died Saturday March 11, 1978 at his home. A retired farmer and former employee of the city of Crawfordsville, he had resided in Crawfordsville since 1948 He was a grad of Jackson Twp Schools. Born Sept 18, 1899 in Wallace, he was the son of William T. and Grace Cox Allen. He was married Jan 10, 1920 to Leona Krout of Alamo. She died in 1975. Survivors include a son, Carl of Crawfordsville; six daughters, Mrs. Margaret Fairfield; Mrs. Grace Swank Mrs. Bernice Williams; Mrs. Mary French and Mrs. Jean Gleason all of Carwfordsville and Mrs. Wynona Hunley of Waveland; 37 granchildren and several greatgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Byron of Wallace; two infant children and a grandson. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wed at the Thomas Funeral Home. The Rev. George Elliott will officiate. Burial will be in Wolfe Creek Cem. Visiation will be after 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
