Covington, Ind -- Darrell Vernon Allen, 52, of Rockville Rt 1 died unexpected at his home yesterday afternoon (Oct 1, 1966) on Mansfield Lake after being stricken while working in his yard. Death was attributed to a heart condition. Mr. Allen was born July 13, 1914 in Wabash Township, Fountain Co IN the son of Willard and Ida Catherine Berto Allen. He married Mary Virginia Allen Feb 29, 1936. She an dhis mother survive. Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Charlotte Humrichous of Covington Rt 1, a brother, Norman Allen of Anderson, Ind and several aunts and uncles. A 1933 graduate of Perrysville HS, Mr. Allen resided at Stringtown, Covington Rt 1, until moving to his new home on Mansfield Lake about 18 months ago. He was employed at Food Machinery Corporation formerly Wabash River Ordance Works at Newport, Ind since its construction during WWII. Mr. Allen was a member of Unity Lodge 344, F&AM, Perrysville, Ind and Moose Lodge 1001, Danville. Services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home with Rev. Alfred Dobbs officiating. Burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 6 p.m. today and Monday.

Covington, Ind -- Masonic services will be at 8:30 tonight by Unity Lodge 344 at Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home for Darrell Vernon ALlen, 52 of Rockville Rt 1. He died unexpectedly at his home Saturday. Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The Rev. Alfred Dobbs will officiate. Burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery. The body is at the funeral home.
