ALLEN, Cora Icy Babb - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Cates - Mrs. Icy Allen, 87, of Cates died at 12:15 p.m. Thurday in Ben Hur Nursing Home at Crawfordsville. Born April 10, 1889, in Fountain County, she was a daughter of John and Ellen Riley Babb. She married Bert Allen May 8, 1904. He died Aug 5, 1951. Surviving are two daughters, Nellie S. Whyde of Covington and Mrs. Clara Gowin of 304 E. Franklin, Crawfordsville and a grandson, Ethan Whyde of near Cates. Five brothers and two sisters are deceased. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Woodrow Funeral Home at Kingman with Rev. Alfred Dobbs officiating. Burial will be in Coal Creek Cemetery near Cato (sic). Friends may call at the funeral home today from 7-9 p.m.
