Mrs. Bessie Allee, 78, of 10 E. Ninth, was found dead in her home at 8 a.m. today (June 26, 1969). She had been in ill health six months and death was from natural causes. She was a life resident of the Danville area and of the Ninth address for 21 years. Born Dec. 19, 1890, in Danville, she was a daughter of William and Minnie Puzey Ottinger. Her schooling was in Danville. Mrs. Allee had been employed by the Flamingo Products for 13 years until retiring in 1956. She was married July 3, 1926, in Urbana to Preston Clay Allee; who preceded her in death. Surviving are a foster daughter, Mrs. Meredith Downey of Danville, and a brother, Jesse Ottinger of Cayuga, Ind. She was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers and three sisters. She enjoyed crocheting. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. (CDT) Saturday at the Pape Memorial Home. The Rev. Don C. Goodwin will officiate. Burial will be in the Thomas Cemetery at Newport, Ind. Friends will be received at the funeral home 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday.
