STATE LINE, Ind. (CNS) --Daniel William Alison, 87, died 5:20 p.m. (EST) Wednesday ( Dec. 22, 1971) at his home in State Line. A semi-professional baseball player for 30 years, he had worked as a trucker, farmer and auctioneer in the State Line and Alvin, Ill., areas. He resided in State Line 42 years. He was born May 7, 1884, in Alvin, the son of Cicero and Barbara Allison Alison. He attended Alvin grade school. Mr. Alison was married to the former Maude Cavin, who preceded him in death in 1952. He was married to the former Lula Anna Harris March 11, 1963, in Hammond, Ind., who survives. Other survivors include three stepdaughters, Mrs. Lewis (June) Graham of Valparaiso, Mrs. Robert (Beulah) Curry of Portage and Mrs. Elmer (Geraldine) Lahmann of Indianapolis; four sisters, Mrs. Ada Ingram of Hammond, Mrs. Emma Powell of East Orange, N.J., Mrs. Cordelia Cunningham of Oakland, Ill., and Mrs. Ethel Carter of Albuquerque, N.M.; a brother, John of Alvin; a grandson and two great-granddaughters. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Reva, and a son, Daniel. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in State Line, Mound Masonic Lodge 274 and Order of Amaranth Flora Bell Court 8 in Attica. Services will be at 1 p.m. CST Friday at Pape Memorial Home in Danville, with the Rev. Lawrence W. Tidrow assisted by the Rev. Eugene Rapson officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery in Alvin. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Thursday and Masonic services will be at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
