Hillsboro - Fred B. Alfrey, 85, of Hillsboro, a retired farmer died Friday afternoon in Culver Hospital at Crawfordsville. He had been a patient two weeks. Mr. Alfrey had lived in the Hillsboro community nine years after moving here from Arkansas. He was self-employed farmer and retired in 1958. He attended Montgomery County schools and was a member of Fifth Street Church of Christ at Covington. Born March 13, 1890, at Ladoga, he was a son of John and Laura Allen Alfrey. He married Ruth Hagler in 1957. She survives. Also surviving are two sons, Cecil of Indianapolis and John of Logansport; two daughters, Mrs. Vera Wilson of Logansport and Mrs. anna Cline of Las Vegas, Nev and a brother, Henry of Gary. A son, three sisters and a brother are deceased. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Crumley & Williams Funeral Home with Jim Daniel officiating. Burial will be in Freedom Baptist Cemetery northeast of Waveland. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Sunday. -- kbz
