Walter Edwin Albert, 98, 100 Sherry Lane, Attica, died at Community Hospital, Williamsport, Thursday, Aug. 14, at 1:50 p.m. having been in failing health for one and a half years. He had been hospitalized one week.. He was born at Freelandville, Ind., April 4, 1888, the son of Henry F. and Agnes Sinz Albert. He formerly lived at Logansport and had been a resident of Attica since 1913. He was married Feb. 14, 1917, in Attica, to Lillian Volvia, who preceded him in death April 30, 1976. He was a graduate of Freelandville High School and Logansport Business College. He formerly worked for the gas company in Logansport, was a former secretary of J.W.. Harrison, founder of Harrison Steel Castings Co., Attica, and later was the purchasing agent for Harrison Steel. He was a member of the Attica United Methodist Church, charter member of Harrison Hills Country Club, and a member of Wabash Lodge No. 708 F. & A.M., Attica. Surviving are one son, Warren Albert, Attica; three daughters, Mrs. Curtis (Barbara) Curry, Bloomington, Ind.; Mrs. William (Elna) Kerns, Hilton Head, S.C., and Mrs. Burton (Eloise) Sears, Columbus, Ind.; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, with the Rev. Earl D. Owen officiating. Sankey Raisor rendered favorite selections on the organ. Those who served as pallbearers were Mark Albert, Ed Acree, Kent Kerns, John Kerns, Stewart Curry and Kevin Curry. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Attica. Those so desiring may contribute in memoriam to the Williamsport Community Hospital Memorial Fund.

Attica – Walter E. Albert, 98, of Attica, father of Eloise Sears of Columbus died at 1:50 p.m. Thursday at Community Hospital in Williamsport. He had been in failing health 1 ½ years and hospitalized one week. Albert was former secretary for JW Harrison of Harrison Steel Casting Co. In Attica and had been purchasing agent for the company before his retirement. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and Wabash Masonic Lodge and was a charter member of Harrison Hills Country Club. He was a graduate of Freelandville HS and Logansport Business College. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday by the Rev. Earl D. Owen at Maus Funeral Home in Attica where calling hours will be from 10  a.m. to noon Saturday. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Attica. Memorials may be made to Community Hospital in Williamsport. Albert was born April 4, 1888 in Freelandville the son of Henry F. and Agnes Sinz Albert. He had been a resident of Attica since 1913. He married Lillian Voliva Feb 14, 1917 in Attica and she died April 30, 1978. Other survivors include a son, Warren Albert of Attica; two other daughters, Barbara Curry of Bloomington and Elna Kerns of Hilton Head, SC; 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
