Funeral rites for Mrs. Kearney Bell Albea, age 74, a resident of the Covington community for the past 54 years, and a former resident of Danville, who died at 1:50 p. m. Thursday, Jan. 5 at her home, 611 Washington St., were held Saturday afternoon, Jan. 7, at 2:30 o'clock at the Hegg Funeral Home. Mrs. Albea had been seriously ill for three weeks. The Rev. Donald Wade officiated with burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Leo Rich, Burton Clark, Paul Black, Jim Brasker, Donald Brasker, and Vernon Vanderhere. Born Dec. 20, 1886 in Vermilion County, Mrs. Albea was the daughter of Robert H. and Lucy Cunningham Brasker. She was married Jan. 16, 1906 to Ed Albea, who survives. Mrs. Albea was a member of the Covington Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband, a daughter, Mrs. Louis (Thelma) Henderson, of Covington; two sons, Jack and Virgil, both of Indianapolis; four sisters, Mrs. Grace Anderson of Tampa, Fla., Mrs. Ethel Black of Dolton, Mrs. Mary Mahorney of Crawfordsville and Mrs. Florence Vanderhere of Gary; a brother, Harry of Phoenix, Ariz.; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, a daughter, two sisters and three brothers.
