WALLACE ADKINS

Wallace Adkins, a well known farmer living south of Hillsboro died Friday morning at Lake View Hospital in Danville, Ill from the effets of injuries he sustained the preceding Sunday while cranking his car while in gear at Steam Corner. The engine back fired, the crank striking him in the stomach. He was found unconscious a few minutes later by BF Myers int he ditch by the roadside where he had been pushed by his car. He was removed to his home and Dr. Songer of Hillsboro was called to attend him, he later being taken tot he Lake View Hopsital in Danville, Ill. The crank must have struck him on the hip for a large hole was torn in the flesh and the hip bone was fractured. It is also thought he suffered internal injuries Mr. Adkins was 65. The funeral was held Sunday afternoon at 3 o'cock from the home of his brother, George B. Adkins, whose home is near the residence of the deceased. The Masonic lodge of which he was a member had charge of the burial services. Buried Mt. Hope Cemetery, Covington.
