BURLINGTON, Vt. — Barbara Elizabeth Adamson, 85, Burlington, Vt., died of complications resulting from a broken hip Thursday, Oct. 4, 2001. She was born Nov. 19, 1915 in Columbia, S.C., the daughter of Clarence and Rose Smyer Misenheimer. She married her high school sweetheart, William Marlin Adamson May 4, 1938 in Bellingham, Wash. He preceded in death June 3, 1993. She was a 1933 graduate of Covington High School. She was a librarian in the Lincoln Public Schools in Lincoln, Mass. from 1963 until 1979. Her final two years were spent at The Arbors, a residence for the memory-impaired in Shelburne, Vt. Survivors include: a daughter, Sandra Adamson, Lowell, Mass.; a son, William (Dinny) Adamson, Jr. Charlotte, Vt.; a son-in-law, Clark Smyth; grandchildren, Clark, Jr. and Jennifer Smyth, Boulder, Colo.; and a brother, Ben Misenheimer, Council Grove, Kan. She was also preceded in death by a daughter Sarah Smyth on Sept. 5, 2001. A memorial service was at noon Saturday in Charlotte Congregational Church, Charlotte, Vt. A gravesite service was at 11 a.m. Monday in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Covington. Dickerson Funeral Home, Veedersburg, was in charge of arrangements.
