ADAIR, Virgil Brown

Veedersburg—The Rev. Virgil Brown Adair, 67, of Veedersburg Route 3, died at 2:30 a.m. Saturday, June 2, 1973 at Culver Hospital in Crawfordsville, where he had been a patient eight days.

  He was born Nov. 6, 1905 in Thorntown, to Justine and Effie Booe Adair. He married Blanche Fields on March 26, 1944. She survives.

  Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. William (Joanne) Swaney of Covington Route 1; a son, Donald D. of Kalamazoo, Mich.; a brother, Otis of Veedersburg; two sisters, Mrs. Kenneth (Lydia) Rhodes and Mrs. Ocie Briner, both of Veedersburg; and eight grandchildren.

  He was preceded in death by a grandson.

  He was a member of the Veedersburg Nazarene Church, and the Nazarene Ministerial Association. He was a former minister of the Covington Nazarene Church. He has been a resident of Veedersburg most of his life except for a few years he lived in Covington. He was employed at Marshall Studios at Veedersburg for several years. He retired from that job in 1971 because of ill health.

  Services were at 2 p.m. Monday at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home in Covington with the Rev. Cloyd Kyger officiating. Burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery at Covington. – thanks to “S”
