Newtown

Borden Abolt, 74, a life resident of Newtown, died at 10:15 p.m. Saturday in St. Elizabeth Hospital at Lafayette after an illness of two years. A retired farmer, he was born June 6, 1895 near Newtown, a son of Marion and Martha Miller Abolt. On March 11, 1920 he was married to Mary Ann Marr at Covington. Mr. Abolt was a member of HOpewell Baptist Church here and the Fish & Game Club. He attended Newtown schools. Survivors include his wife, three sons, Marvin D. of near Covington, Milford of Newtown and Robert Lee of Attica; a sister, Mrs. Oveta Smith of near Newtown and 8 gradnchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Crumley-Willads Funeral Home at Hillsboro, with Rev George Phelps officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery. Friends may call at 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday.
